November 1 | Acts 20 | Spiritual Leadership
Have you ever said a final goodbye to someone you loved? Share your story with the group. What did you say (or wish you said), or what gift did your loved one leave with you in that moment?
Read Acts 20:18–21. Paul highlights presence, servanthood, and unshrinking gospel proclamation as the ‘unfancy tools’ of spiritual leadership. Which of these three areas comes most naturally to you, and where do you feel challenged to grow in your daily life and relationships?
Read Acts 20:28–31. Paul charges the leaders to guard both the flock and their own hearts against spiritual evil. Why is paying careful attention to our own spiritual health often more difficult than watching over others, and how can we stay vigilant?
In v28, Paul reminds these leaders of the blood of Jesus in a moment of great sorrow. How does remembering that the church was purchased with Christ's own blood give us comfort and perseverance when life feels weary or heavy?
Read Acts 20:32. Paul commends the believers "to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up". Take time to pray for one another, commending each person in your group to God and asking Him to build them up and equip them for ministry in their homes, workplaces, and community.
